What do we do?
On the mechanical team of the Okemos Solar Racing Club, we focus on building and improving our solar car’s structure. We design and build the car’s frame, making sure it’s strong, stable, and as lightweight as possible. We also work on the car’s aerodynamics, shaping it so it moves smoothly through the air. Our team handles the suspension and steering to make sure the car is stable and drives well on the road. We also mount the solar panels securely so they capture sunlight efficiently. Overall, we make sure all the mechanical parts, like the motor and brakes, work together smoothly.
