What Does the Electrical Team do?

On the electrical team of the Okemos Solar Racing Club, we focus on designing and managing the car’s electrical systems. We work with the solar panels to make sure they convert sunlight into energy efficiently and manage the batteries to store that power. Our team handles the wiring and circuitry, connecting all the electrical parts like the motor, sensors, and control systems to ensure everything is safe and works well. We also optimize power distribution to make the car as energy-efficient as possible. Additionally, we install systems to monitor the car’s performance during the race, like speed and battery levels. When problems arise, we troubleshoot and fix any electrical issues to keep the car running smoothly.
